easy to use sub-assembly that integrates with package and open top socket combinations and allows you to deploy various levels if thermal management to your burn-in and reliability applications. In passive heat sink configuration, the clamshell sub-assembly is mounted around the perimeter of the open top socket, and the heat sink is used to extract heat from the device. In this configuration, we offer a standard or custom heat sink which can be designed to meet your thermal objectives taking the device and environmental characteristics into account.
The active control format uses the same clamshell sub-assembly in addition to a thermal sensor and heater. In this configuration the Single Site Thermal Solution is used in conjunction with equipment that offers controls to monitor device temperature and cycle the heater on and off in order to supply thermal management to the device.
When the Single Site Thermal Solution is offered with iSocket Technology the subassembly includes the clamshell
subassembly, heat sink, thermal sensor, heater, and control electronics. This version of SStS offers full thermal control of your device during reliability and burn-in testing. Ask your Antares Advanced Test Technologies sales representative for more information on iSocket and SSiS.
