DCI Elastomer Sockets Offer Low Inductance, High Insertion Rates For High Frequency Applications

New Elastomer Test Sockets Achieve up to 200,000 Insertions

Santa Clara, California – June 25, 2003 – Dimensions Consulting Inc. (DCI) today announced a new line of Elastomer test sockets for Quad Flat No lead (QFN) devices. Providing higher speed with an inductance of only 0.1nH, the new sockets are ideal for high frequency (beyond 15Ghz), mixed signal and low voltage applications.

The new Elastomer socket is particularly suited for customers looking for the low inductance of an elastomer socket, but offers much higher insertion rates than are typical for this type of socket. Other elastomer sockets typically break down after 100 to 2,000 insertions, but the new sockets from DCI give customers an average of 50,000 to 200,000 insertions – much more value for their budgets.

Elastomer socket specifications

The Elastomer sockets, like all DCI test sockets, can be used in lab test, full automatic handler and production test. The pitch can be as low as 0.3mm and the contact resistance is less than 50 mohms. The DCI Elastomer sockets offer a contact life of 50,000 to 200,000 insertions, two orders of magnitude more than most in the industry. The new socket’s low inductance of 0.1nH at .020”pitch is 75% less than typical elastomer sockets.

Pricing and Availability

The Elastomer sockets are available immediately with prices starting below $2,000 per socket. Quantity discounts are available.
